Couple of weeks ago, VSCO Cam in collaboration with Hypebeast announced their latest preset pack. Naturally, I had to test it out. I'm a huge fan of the "orange" side of the colour spectrum. The warmer and earthy tones. However, the Hypebeast preset is the total opposite. It leans more towards the cooler side of the colour spectrum.
I shot the majority of the photos at dawn. More specifically somewhere between the sunrise and twilight. There is a subtle blue-ish darkness painted all over the skies. It's that time where the sensors pick up more light than the human eyes.
Whenever I'm shooting mundane subjects, I look for one major element and that is texture. Weather it's in form of a skin tone or the roughness of a concrete block the interaction between the light and texture is what makes a frame appealing.
Although my favourites are Mood (M3,M5), Analog (A) and Street Etiquette (SE), the Hypebeast managed to land itself on it's own list. It's the preset to go when shooting at dawn! PERIOD.
♦ At 4:30am the moon was still visible! Try to spot it.
